Bridgestones POTENZA RE050 tyres fitted on Ferrari GG50
Bridgestone Corporation announced today that its flagship tyres, POTENZA RE050, which are supplied globally, will be fitted onto the Ferrari GG50 concept car designed by world-renowned car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.
The POTENZA RE050 enables superior handling, while an emphasis on comfort produces a quiet driving experience. Bridgestone has already supplied POTENZA tyres to a variety of new high-performance cars. They have also been employed in some of Ferrari’s flagship models, namely the 612 SCAGLIETTI, Enzo Ferrari and Superamerica.
The Ferrari GG50 was designed by Giugiaro to celebrate his 50th year engaged in car design. The concept model, based on the Ferrari 612 SCAGLIETTI, is the only one of its kind in the world and is not intended for production or sale.

The tyres for the Ferrari GG50, the POTENZA RE050 RFT, feature runflat capability, and are of size 245/35R20 on the front wheels and 305/35R20 on the rear wheels.
Bridgestone’s proven record and high reliability amassed over the years among car makers such as Ferrari was the catalyst for bringing this plan into fruition.

The Ferrari GG50 is planned for display at the Bridgestone booth at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show beginning on October 22 as the flagship model expressing the global nature of the POTENZA RE050.

* Runflat tyres continue to operate at a specified speed for a specified distance after losing pressure under normal conditions at 0kPa air pressure. This vastly improves safety in the event of a sudden loss of pressure as with a puncture. In addition, runflats eliminate the need for carrying a spare tyre. This contributes to fuel economy through weight-savings, and it gives automakers greater latitude in designing vehicles. Eliminating the spare tyre also reduces rubber consumption and rubber scrap. Bridgestone's runflat tyres are installable on conventional wheels.
